We have been hard at work on new platform capabilities to help increase our ability to make mobile advertising work for you and I wanted to take a moment to share some exciting developments with you.
eCPM Change

We have recently changed the algorithm that determines the prioritization of ads.We now prioritize based on both bid and the effectiveness of your ad text, which benefits ads with higher click thru rates (CTR).We've included best practices for Publishers below in order to help you maximize revenue.The objective of this is to optimize monetization for Publishers and initial results show considerably higher revenue per impression.We've included best practices below to help Publishers further maximize revenue.

New Functionality for Publishers

In response to your feedback we have added new functionality to meet your needs.This includes introducing multi-ad approval functionality, improving usability of the My Sites page and addressing load times for the key site stats page.The multi-ad approval functionality will allow you to approve multiple ads simultaneously, allowing you to more efficiently control the ad approval process.This new functionality is available in the My Sites section of your AdMob account.

Click-to-video ad campaign - Coca Cola beta of AdMob Landing Page solution
Coca Cola took advantage of AdMob's new Landing Page tools to launch a click-to-video ad test for its Bottle Films.In addition to the click-to-video ad that Coca Cola chose, the Landing Page solution will deliver click-to-call, email collection and more customer acquisition techniques.AdMob will be launching a limited Beta of the tools in June.

Integrating Ads onto your Pages
Place your ad high on the page. Click thru rates (CTR) are typically 1% to 5% higher for ads placed above the fold as users are more likely to see them. Be sure to place AdMob's site install code in a position that is visible to your users.
Experiment with multiple ads on a page. Our best-performing publishers have placed multiple ad positions on their pages.Be sure to do so in a way that doesn't disturb the user experience. You can do this by clicking on the My Sites tab of your AdMob account and going through the "add site" process.
Ad Approval
Auto-approve ads.Let us do the work for you.Save time and ensure that all of your inventory is filled by setting your ad moderation to Auto-Approve.If you do choose to manually approve ads, be sure to check back frequently for new ad submissions.
Multi-ad approval.If youdo manually approve ads, save time and keep ads fresh by using the new multi-ad approval functionality in the My Sites section of your AdMob account.
Ad Targeting
Select appropriate ad categories.Keep your fill rates high and increase click thru rates by selecting only appropriate category restrictions.Users are more likely to click on ads that they haven't seen before.
Select the correct channel. Be sure that your site is assigned to the right channel so that relevant ads are being seen by your users.
Experiment. Try different text colors, fonts or alignment of the ad text.
