We've just wrapped up another great month at AdMob and I would like to take a moment to share some of the highlights from August with you.
AdMob Marketplace News
Tremendous network growth
Last month we were excited to tell you that our run-rate for ad serving exceeded one billion ads per month. Our rapid growth is continuing and we are serving ads at an even more rapid rate, having just exceeded over 6.5 billion ads served globally. A few snapshots from August are:
Over 450 million ads served in the US
Over 60 million ads served in the UK
Over 95% fill rates worldwide
The significant volume of ads served means that our ad serving technology continues to get smarter, improving targeting and ad matching capabilities to ensure that the best ads are served for your audience.
In July, I highlighted two recent additions to the AdMob Marketplace:ESPN and CBS. Both have proven to be valuable and ESPN in particular is expected to continue adding a significant volume of inventory, skewing male, which can be critical in helping you to meet your campaign targeting needs.
I am also excited to tell you about just a few of the many recent additions to our network of advertisers:Cadillac, Comedy Central, Cricinfo, Electronic Arts, JC Penney, Navy and Nexxus.These new advertisers add value to the AdMob Marketplace overall by providing more demand, which means increased monetization for you as publishers.
AdMob AdMonitor
We have created a great way for you to visualize the incredible demand for ads served through the AdMob Marketplace with our new AdMob AdMonitor. This interactive map is a real-time snapshot displaying where ads are being shown across our network of publishers.As advertisers, this gives you insight into the volume and diversity of inventory available throughout our extensive network of publishers.Click here to check it out.
An easy way to maximize revenue is to keep ads fresh on your site to interest users and drive click thru rates. Enabling the "Auto Approve" functionality will ensure that your site always has new ads available.
AdMob makes it easy to auto approve ads and still feel confident that the user experience on your site will be protected.We safeguard publishers from unwanted ads via a multi-step ad filtration process.All ads are subjected to both machine and manual analysis which includes reviews of ad-text, ad classification, URL filters and other keywords for Age Appropriate and Family Friendly content.
For those publishers who prefer to manually approve ads, I recommend using the multi-ad approval functionality.Both of these features are available in the My Sites section of your AdMob Marketplace account.
